Business has, on the whole, beeh qaiet during the week just closed, although this may be considered the quiet season of the year. But little change con be quoted in prices. The market is still overstocked with imported ale, but stent is in demand, and Guinness’s trade doing in dried fruits. Currants have been mid at US, Eleme raisins 6}d, and■ sultanas at Bd. Candles are unchanged, lOd being still the-market value. --'Devos's kerosene. Is 7di - Sugar has-been moving freely, and Mauritius best whims are scarce in consequence. ’ Parcels have been placed at L 35. Yellows are id better supply.' The high prices to which tobacco rose some time ago axe still maintained, and seem likely,to continue, at least until very material change takes place in the supply. Oilmen’s stores continue in steady demand. Lea ■ and Perrin's sauce realises 12s 3d; sardines, half- 1 boxes,,BslOJd; carbonate of soda, 20s; castoroil, half-pints, &; bulk vinegar, 2s 2d. Dairy produce is in steady consumption.
