Friday, June 9. (Before Y. Fyke, Esq., J.P.)
Drunkenness.— George Matheson, Benjamin Halliday, and David Wilson were each fined 6s, in'default 24 hours’ imprisonment ; James Scott 10s, or three days. Assaulting the Police.— The prisoner Wilson was further charged with resisting Constable Duffy in the execution of his duty, and was fined 20s, in default three days’ imprisonment. Theft. —Bridget Kane, against whom there were fifty-six previous convictions, pleaded guilty to stealing two boots and ten iron spoons, the property of Philip Tiltmann, —She was sent back to her “ customary lodgings ” for two mouths. An Explanation. stated he had made inquiries regarding the statement of the prisoner Cameron yesterday that she had received money from the Governor of the Gaol, and found that the L2 had been left for prisoner (who was undergoing a sentence) with Mr Caldwell, and that she received it en completing her Sentence. ■
