BOTTLE LICENSES.

To tke Editor Sir, —In perusing your journal last night t find “Bottle License-holder’' complaining of the rev. gentlemen. With regal'd to bottle licenses, » for one felt highly pleasfed that they speak so earnestly against the bottle licenses. It is, without doubc, unfair to any publican, whp has to keep to strict roles, to be undermined by’these places. A public-house is perhaps an evil, but at all events it is optional either to enter 4>r avoid it; and for my part 1 would rather see a public-house at every corner than one of these so-called bottle-license houses at eVery dozen. There are few who can imagine the mischief they cause, but the tradesman may have some little idea of tue matter. T am taxing your kindness to ask you to insert this, but as I have fought hard for temperance I could not pass this without remark; and were 1 a revenue officer, which. I have no wish to be, 1 fancy I should throw some light on this evil—l am, &c., ; Wiuft-siitiKKUt. ■
