The consequence is that this has been what is termed “ a flat week "—nothing having occurred t« induce a change in last quotations, prices remain ns last noticed. LABOR MARKET’, Mr John Skene reports that the labor market Is very quiet in most departments, only old seasoned laborers are wanted for the country. * Farmers have not much encouragement'to employ labor so ploughmen nr o feeling it too. Blacksmiths, engineers, bakers, carpenters, shoemnkeis, &c„ are far from brisk. Couples are seldom asked for at this season.
