Sidney, May 26. Tho vote for the New Zealand cable Subsidy Iras been passed.
May 27. The Pacific mail subsidy has passed the Assembly. During the discussion the Postmaster said ho believed the contractors were anxious to change the route to Auckland or the Bay of Islands. Mr Parkes, adverting to the probability of a change of route as suggested, said it would be would bo all in favor of New Zealand. Mr Burns, in reply, said the Government had no intention to propose the change, though the contractors expressed their desire to withdraw from the contract unless it was agreed to.
Melbourne, May 26. Every insurance office is involved in the late fires from LI,OOO to L 5,000, except the Liverpool and Globe. The insurances cover L 90,000. A number of the principal merchants had goods in Shaw's bond valued at L 150,000. All the suburban Brigades were absent at Ballarat.
The National Reform League, at a meeting last night, seriously considered the propriety of taking steps to impeach Sir Wm. Staweli for his late political action.
