Alpha, ketch, 25 tons, Maine, for Oamaru. Albion, s.s., 640 tons, Clark, for Melbourne, via the Bluff. Passengers: For the Bluff—Mr Fletcher, and live steerage. For Melbourne—Mcsdames Aitken, Henderson and child, Miss Butement, Captain Moule, Mr D. F. Main, and twenty-nine steerage. May 24.—Taupo, s.s., 462 tons, Worsp, for Northern ports.

Easby, s.s., 969 tons, Kennedy, fox Sydney and Newcastle, via Lyttelton and Wellington.

A telegram dated Loudon, April 20, was received by the New Zealand Shipping Company stating that their fiuo ship Waitangi had arrived all well. It will be remembered that this vessel left here on January 23 in company with the Merope and Zealaudin, and has made a fine passage Home in eightysix days. No news has been received of the other two vessels, so at present it is impossible to say what was tho result of the race.

The steamers Beautiful Star and Taioroa sailed last evening for Timnvu. The now ketch Alpha took her departure last evening on her maiden trip with a cargo of cement for Oamaru.

The a.a. Albion, for Melbourne, via tho Bluff, sailed last evening. The ketches Fanny, with a cargo of timber from Gatlin’s Eiver, and Trial, with produce from Waikouaiti, arrived yesterday afternoon. The s.s. Matau, with cargo and passengers from Oamam, arrived last evening, and steamed passed the Port to Dunedin.

The Union Co.’s chartered s.s. Wanganui returned to port early this morning with cargo and fifteen passengers from Lyttelton, via Timarn, and steamed alongside the hulk to coal. She left Lyttelton at 6 p.m. on the 22nd, arrived at Akaroa at 11.30 p.m., left again shortly aitor midnight, and arrived at Timarn at noon on the 23rd; took in cargo and left again at 6.30 p.m., arriving as above.

The Union Co.’s steamer Tanpo, with cargo and passeuge s for the Northern ports, took her departure from the railway pier this afternoon. Messrs Houghton and Co.’s s.s. Express arrived at 9.30 this morning with cargo and passengers from the Bluff, which port she left at 5.80 p m. yesterday. She experienced fine weather along the coast to arrival.

The three-masted schooner Lizzie was removed from the new pier and anchored in the stream this forenoon.

The s.s. Easby took her departure this afternoon from the railway pie* for Sydney and Newcastle, via Lyttelton and Wellington. To-day being the anniversary of Her Majesty’s Birthday the war steamer Nymphe was gaily decorated with flags, and the several vessels in port displayed their bunting. Beyond this the Port was almost deserted.
