Some of : bxfr imbrbhants' have suffered severely. One of the bankrupt’s liabilities amounted to L 1.400, and -there is some word, of the “Fraudulent Debtors’ Act ” being ppt into motion. One insolvent is said tq have got a mortgage on a house that did not belong to him ; and. also to have bought a horse on eredit, ahd spld him for cash. —Several mining agents, who always had a great deal to say-iiL-Court generally upon matters of little consequence, have been finding fault with the Warden’s style of doing business. One Charles Colclongh published a very strongworded letter, endeavoring to show that the Warden acted with partiality. His Worship was displeased, aud ordered that in future none but solicitors should be allowed to conduct cases in Court. As there is no lawyer in Cromwell, and only one attends the Court on Court days, it is oftentimes inconveniencing to suitors.”
