A NEW STREET.
To the Editor. Sir, —In a previous issue of your valuable journal you were kind enough to insert a suggestion offered by myself relative to the formation of a street running betwixt High and Maclaggan streets. As nothing has been mooted since, and feeling convinced of the desirability of such a step being taken for the inhabitants generally, I ask, obligingly some assistance from your able pen. It is not from any selfish motive on my part I am advocating the advisability of this project, inasmuch as some might be good enough to credit me with an eye to the enhancement of the value of my property (which undoubtedly would be); but on tho ocher hand, I would ask will my property be the only one? I gness not. t 0 access for dray or conveyance of any kind is now permitted through Fleet street, and Masse street being nearly on a line the outlet for traffic would, through the proposed street fonnation, be very convenient, as sufficient width for dray as well as footpath accommodation can be obtained. Hoping you will aid my endeavors to obtain a convenience to the citizens gene Tally, I am, &c., Thomas Pavletich. Dunedin, May 22.
