The desirability of finishing a book upon the manner and customs of the aboriginals, commenced by Mr Brough Smythe has been determined upon by the Chief Secretary. Mr tSymthe will be requested to cornp'ete the work, as a considerable sum of public money has been spent on it. The last Tasmanian aboriginal, Lallah Rookh, died of paralysis, aged seventy-two. She was Queen Consort to King Billy, who died some time ago, aged seventy-one. Lallah Rookh was under the care of Mr Dan bridge, whom the Government allowed LBO 1 a-year for bur maintenance.
Parliament has been further prorogued til the 29th June,
