AMUSEMENTS.

Boncicault's sensational drama, "The Shaughrami," which Mr Wheatleigh introduced to a Duuediu audience some months ago, was played at Ihe Queen's Theatre on Saturday evening. The audience wad a largo one. and the play being brimful of Irish witticisms and drolleries is one which cam not foil to p ease. Mr Keogh appeared to amuse as Conn; and Mrs Hill's Claire Folliot ,was a capital representation. Mr Stoneham gained deserved applause for bis acting os Captain Molyueux. The drama will he repeated to-night. On Wednesday Mr and Mrs Byers make their first appearance in “ Eichelieu.”

The concert at the Temperance Hall on Saturday evening drew a very large audience, and the various items of the very liberal programme ware thoroughly appreciated. Mr Sykes’s solos on the piano were received with loud applause. Mona. Oriel’s troupe of trained dogs, now performing at the Queen’s Theatre, are an evidence of how dumb animals may be taught by kindness. There are four of them. Schneider, at spelling, would be a strong opponent at a spelling-bee, whilst Bluer works sums m addition and multiplication with perfect accuracy. Questions put by the ahdience are answered by the dogs by means of printed cards. To those who are interested in the canine species we would recommend a visit.
