Ah Chong, convicted of the murder of a countryman in Paramatta gaol, was executed on the 18th.
In reply to a deputation of masons, who urged the use of stone for the new Law Courts in Melbourne, the Minister of Public Works said it was a question of time and expense, and the Government would go on with the erection of the brick building.
