Tke war between Egypt and Abyssinia has terminated,
General Schenk has left for Washington with the view of meeting his calumniators. The King of Asbantee paid another instalment of 500oz. of gold on account of the indemnity of Dr Goldbury, at (Joomassie. Ihe gold was found to be adulterated, and five days were given to replace it. Au inquiry into the loss of the Stratholyde is being conducted. A sailor states that if the boats of that vessel had been lowered, several lives would have been saved.
