NEW SOUTH WALES.
Information reached Corowa on Saturday week last that the survey camp near Walbundrie had been stuck up and robbed of all the valuables in it. The camp, it appears, was in charge of only one person, whilst the rest were out engaged at some distance away at their usual occupation, and at about 10
a.m. the hut-keeper observed two sus-picious-looking individuals approaching. On reaching the camp they immediately demanded whatever money and valuables were about, and the person in charge not complying with their wishes, he was seized and tied securely to anadjoiningtree. They then proceeded to search, and subsequently found LlO in cash and a watch, which they at once
appropriated and decamped, leaving . their prisoner in the predicament referred to. He subsequently released himself with some difficulty, and gave information to the police at Walbundrie. The marauders, it is supposed, are making across the Murray to Victoria. At the Albury Circuit Court, which will commence next week, before his Honor Sir James Martin, the case of Phoebe Post v. J. Donnelly is set down for hearing. Most of our readers will recollect the prosecution of Miss Post for shooting the man Donelly some months since. Prom the evidence then given it appeared that she had been seduced under promise of marriage by Donnelly, and subsequently deserted. Shortly after this Donnelly married, and removed from Cookardina to Hay, on the Murrumbidgee, at which place he now resides. The case is certain to cause a deal of excitement owing to the circumstances with which it is surrounded. The damages for breach of promise were laid at L 2.000, and another case is also to be brought ' against the defendant Donnelly ; the father of Miss Post being the plaintiff, in which, lie claims L 2,000 damages for the seduction of his daughter.
