The work of takmg out the old lining wall is still being pushed ahead, and barring accidents will soon be finished. A gang of men are working on the west side of the tunnel (whenever the weather permits) clearing away the s ip, and once the mouth of the tunnel is cleared the difficulties attending this work will most likely have faded into oblivion. r° tim f be lost in putting in the retaining wall, as the material for the face of the tunnel ia lymg in readiness on the ground. be platelaying from the Clarksville junction is going on rapidly, and the Glenore tunnel is almost ready for the rails and sleepers. No signs are as yet visible of the station buddings at Glenore and Manuka Creek, and it is high time that the authorities were proceeding with their erection, if the line is to be opened to Manuka Greek this winter.— ‘ Times. ’
