MORE RAILWAY DISPUTES.
Riverton, April 26. Another disturbance on the railway works will probably ensue. Mr Proudfoot has instructed the sub-contractors for fencing the Hues to fence right through the town, leaving cmly one opening across the cutting where the bridge is to bo erected on high land, thus shutting up all communication with the country districts and stopping the traffic on the main thoroughfares of the town. The materials on the ground, and unless orders to the contrary are issued the work will be done in a week. A number of citizens declare that if the necessary opening be not left tlic fence will be taken down by force. The Town Council last night decided on telegraphing to the Superintendent on the matter.
Napier, April 25. Mr Donald M ‘Master, sou of an old WaiI’arapa settler, lias purchased Mr J. W. Cmniniiig’s run at Tahoritoi, with three thousand' sheep. Jt is reported that Captain Morris, late candidate for the East Coast, will take proceedings to recover damages against the persona who instigated a charge of bribery against him, widen they faded to prove before the Gisborne Magistrate yesterday.
