MR STOUT'S REPLY.
To the Editor.
Sir, —Shame, Robert Stoat! Shame on ■noh quibbling! I. did not say you are a member of the Executive; but Ido say -you are Provincial Solicitor, and therefore &ust have been or ought to have been .cognisant of what has been going on. Not a member of the Executive ! Spectrum of the Charles Bright mode of free thought. This the excuse for silence while a great wrong is being done to the people who have been taught to look up to you, Robert, as one of their champions or watch-dogs. What a miserable whine like that of a punished cur. Being Sunday night a good spirit, however, ■tops my pen, and a voice whispers, the voice ef his qwn conscience must be punishment enough for the great wrong he has done by his silence to those who trusted in him, Clodocrat. Clutha, April 23.
