A BURGLAR CAPTURED BY A WOMAN.
A courageous act on the pa ft of a woman is narrated by the ‘ Adelaide Express ’ : “A mao named George M‘Donald was charged at the City Police 'Court on Monday morning, by Catherine Hjarraghy, landlady of the Globe Hotel, Howden, with burglariously entering her premises with a felonious intent on the night of the lift? i March. It appeared that Mrs Harragh y heard a noise in the dining-room on t ja e night in question, and she got up, an d lighting a candle went into the room. q'he candle was blown out, but Mrs Harraglr y relit it, and saw the prisoner standing v t the room. She then in the most comr? ,geous manner grappled with him, and held,’ a i m in spite of his struggles ; he in the nv« awhile biting her hand most vicioysl'y.
