CAVERSHAM ROAD BOARD.

A Pasting of the Caversham Road Board was held m the schoolroom on Thursday evening, when there were present Messrs Rutherford (in the c hair) , U , Een, Carey, Wilson, Langmuir. Jackson, an d Bridgman. A letter was read from Mr White, asking to tom a road to his works at Kensington, It was minuted that the Board could not undertake to form the road, being on private property; neither could the Board exempt Mr White from paying rates, though the road should be formed at his own expense.—A letter was read from the Eire Brigade, enclosing an account for L4lßs, which was passed iS r and the Clerk was instructed to write jhe Brigade, tendering the thanks of the Board for their prompt action at the late Are at Caversham. A memorial was read from ratepayers in Darle complaining of the water being diverted from its proper channel and thrown on their side of Hillside road.— The Inspector was instructed to open up the ditch as formerly, so that the water may take its former course, the Clerk to give intimation to the South Dunedin 8 Municipality of the Board’s action in the matter. A letter and several complaints were received from parties complaining of foul ditches and other nuisances. The Inspector was instructed to look after them. It was agreed to spend about L2O in putting Caledonian Road, South Kensington, in a good state repair, and to call for tenders for works in North Ward, and for forming a ditch as anoutlet for the flood-gate at the Railway crossU'Een to see Mr Bl&ir in reference to this i.
