Acting on the same principle as is followed by some of the large manufacturing companies at Home, the directors of the Victorian Woollen and Cloth Company have decided to throw open the sale of their goods to the factory operatives and general public. These can now go direct to the store and buy, at first hand, an end of a tweed, a shawl, or a pair of blankets. Eaglehawk, a Victorian borough, must bo in a bad state. There is scarcely a family in Sailor’s Gully at the present time but that some of the members are under treatment for soreness of the eyes, which resembles in many respects the sandy blight. The attendance at the State schools has been considerably de■i creased during-the past month, and in looking over the' roll the cause is accredited to sore eyes.” Scarlet fever seems to be making O
