THE COLIMA.
Messrs Wilson, Sawtell, and Co, agents in Christchurch for the Colima, determined not to bring the steamer into Lyttelton, there being no dry dock there for her to repair in, and having ascertained that the Graving Dock in Port Chalmers was large enough to accommodate her, sent a steamer out to order her to make her way to that port. At six this morning the Alnambra took her in tow. Telegrams have been sent to Sydney to make arrangements for a connecting boat at Auckland for the advertised date. The Hawea takes the mails to Auckland. Messrs Battray and Strode, and Captain Logan have agreed to act as Commissioners to inquire into the causes of the Colima not entering the Port on Monday, and the Superintendent will probably gazette them as such. In answer to a telegram sent this morning from Mr Gillies, Secretary to the Harbor Board, the Chief - Har-bor-master at Lyttelton forward the following reply -“Colima towed into harbor this morning by the Alhambra. Draught, 18ft forward, 21ft 6in aft.”
