AMUSEMENTS.

Blondin had an attendance last night which, in some degree, compensated him for the ill luck he has had for some nights past. It is estimated that there were close upon 6,000 persons in the enblosure last, and the pyrotechnic display, and Bloodin's feats on the rope called forth hearty manifestations of ftpproVAl. The Dunedin Private Quadrille Club held their first re-union in St. George’s Hall last evening. There were about forty couples present, and all appeered to thoroughly enjoy themselves. The music Was supplied by Mrs C.utsam (piano), Mr Bailey (comet), and Mr Kelly (violin). Mr H. Stewart acted as M.C. and Mr Donaldson catered.

The MeamS, Perth, and Angus Association celebrated their first anniversary by a SOirde, concert, and dance in the Drill-shed last evening. There were about 300 persons present, and Mr W. D. Stewart presided. The features ef tbe concert were Mr Jones’s violin solo, and the songs of Mesdames Bartlett and Hdmffray, and Miss Edhouse, Mr Sykes acting as accompanyist. Dancing was kept up with spirit till an early hour. The third representation of “ Lucia ,r was in every way a success. There was a full attendance in alt parts of the house, and the opera went, smoothly from first to last. Madame was in good voice, and sang and acted, in fine style, being most ably seconded by Messrs Money, Barrington, and Richardson. How the concerted piece in the second act escaped an encore we cannot understand; it certainly deserved that compliment. An excellent ballet brought the entertainment to a close. Tonight, “ II Trovatore ” will be performed.
