AMUSEMENTS.
BLONDIN Owing to tho windy weather Blondin wisely determined to postpone his last night’s performance till this evening, when nn attractive programme is promised. THE OPERA. There was a good attendance in all parts of the Theatre last night, when “Trovotore” was proseuted. Madame Simonson was suffering so much from a cold that, at the conclusion of the first act, her husband came before the curtain and craved the indulgence of the audience on her behalf. And despite her hoarseness, which naturally increased, Madame- exerted herself to the utmost to give something like life to the performauce; and this she did by inflicting (unnecessarily we thought) pain upon herself. Mr Morley was CManrico, and a’ most satisfactory Troubabour no made. Indeed, the weight of the opera fell on his shoulders, and the additional responsibility seemed to move him to increased efforts. It was a highly artistic performance throughout, and is fully equal to his Edgardo." He was in excellent voice, and in the third act achieved a decided triumph by his splendid rendering of the ario “ Ah si ben mio,” which met with an enthusiastic encore. A similar compliment was paid to the duet “Ai nostri monti,” with Miss Lambert, who, os Azucena, was rather overweighted in the previous act. Mr Eichardson’s Count possesses this merit —that he sang the music of the part correctly, but that is all; his action, to be at all satisfactory, requires some spirit to be infused into it. Mr Levisou was Forrando, and Miss Harris Inez. Tho choruses did not go with their customary steadiness, which we wondered at greatly, as most of the chorus are well up in this opera. On a second representation, and with Madame in ordinary voice, we hope to see a jdeoided improvement in many points. To-night “"Martha ” will be repeated.
