TRAINING NOTES.

The course was closed this morning, but a little work was done on the tan. Gamecock had a steady gallop twice round, polling up better than ,he did yesterday. Jack the Flat and Wild Mnnr Boy were stripped, the former going once round alone, and then three times with his companion—three miles in all. Jack is in good form, but the other is far too big to race. Merry Monarch revived this morning and went round twice in clothing, but he did not move at all well. Templeton and Pnngawerewore were stripped and sent a strong gallop a'little over two miles, Wattle riding Templeton right out to the end. Elfin King joined in at the last mue, but Pun gawerewere could run clean away from both of them. Steamer and Reclaimed had a mile and a-hnlf spin together, hut neither need be expected to pull off a race at tho meeting. Tadmor and Tommy Dodd had another good gallop together about the Cup distance, but the steeplechaser was hard held all the way. Daniel O’Eonrke, Cloth of Gold, and Tattler were next stripped, and sent three times round in Indian file, finishing fast. The leader kept his place all the road, but Cloth of Gold also went very strong. Tattler seems fond of lagging behind, bat that may be altered when he comes to race. Kelly King, Morrybird, and Seabird did only light wort. Fishhook, Haphazard, and Hercules had three turns together. Haphazard sticking to the Cup horse better this morning. Fishhook goes strong, and loses his habit of snorting when he goes fast. Hercules is very big, and he is bad at starting. He took to the ditch this morning in preference to the tan. Endersontook Auckland Kate a stiff three miles gallop in clothing, she getting back to her original form again. Native and Flying Fish went twice round together, the latter finishing another round by himself. Colton took King Philip a gentle gallop twice round, and Lynch gave Bory O'More about a mile rather slow. Tho old horse's action was nothing very grand. Sir William did a mile and a-half at a fair race, and Bight Bower followed suit. Amohia cantered gently for a few hundred yards, and then confined herself to walking. Guy Fawkes stripped and Eorori in his clothing had a grand gallop three times round, finishing very fast. Guy pulled up tolerably fresh, but Koran, seemed from the other side of the course to go dead lame. Afters time ho was walked round, and did not show it so plainly. Banjo did a steady two miles and a-half, and Theodore followed bis example; but Kildare did no work. Glengarry did nothing m the shape of hard work, but Mischief had audio and a-half spin in clothing. Ariel and Payawhenua wore sent separately, each doing about two miles, and both in good style.
