OTAGO HARBOR BOARD.
The Harbor Board met this afternoon at 2.30. There were, present—His Honor the Superintendent (in the chair), Messrs Davie, M'Kinnon, M‘Neil, Beeves, Beid, Bitchie, and Towsley. Mr Gordon was also present. His Honor introduced Ur Gordon to the Board. A conversation took place regarding the tenders lor the construction of the proposed wharf, as it was thought the opinion of Mr Gordon might tend to modify the plan to be adopted. It was finally reresolved to open the tenders, which were as follows:—' John Macgregor, for concrete No. 1... £53,103 0 0 „ No. 2... 51,624 Q 0 ” „ No. 8... 57,640 0 0 M'QIU and Forrest (timber) 41,990 U 0 D. Proudfoot (piles) ... ... ... 34,185 17 6 Concrete, 32a per yard; excavation, 3s fid per yard. A. J. Smythe (timber) ... ... ■ ... 39,874 0 0 T. H. Kerr and Co., Christchurch ‘ (lowest) ' . ..i- ... . ... ... 83,873: 0 0 Stewart ana Co. ... ... 34,995 16 10 ; Campbell Bros ■ ... ... ... 37,962 0 0 Hawkins and Co., Lyttelton (per telegram) ... ... .... ..... .... 35,773 11,5 The tenders were referred to the Engineer for some conversation cespeating the anchor lost by the Lannoelot, it was ordered to bo recovered andsold. . The Board resolved itself into Committee m order . to receive Mr Gordon's suggestions.
