Messrs M'Meckan, Blackwood, and Co.’s s.s. Alhambra, from Melbourne via West Coast and Northern ports, arrived alongside the railway pier at 7 p.m. yesterday. She left Saudridgo railway pier at 2.30 p.m. on the 23rd, and cleared the Heads at 6 p.m.; passed Kent’s Group at 10 am. on the 24th. Experienced N. and N.W. winds, with fine weather, until arriving off Hokitika on the 29th, at 1.30 a.m.; left again at 3.30 p.m., and arrived at Grey mouth at 6 pm!.; left again at 2.30 a.m. on the Ist inst„ and arrived at Nelson at 7.30 a.m. on the 2nd; left again at 1 a.m. on the 3rd, and arrived at Wellington at 2.45 p.m. same day; left again at noon on the sth, and arrived at Lyttelton at 7.15 a.m. on the 6th; left again for Port Chalmers at 9.30 p.m. same evening, arriving as above. ExEerienced fine weather along the coast. We thank er purser, Mr Gibbons, for report and exchanges. The schooner Pioneer, with cargo from Shag Point, arrived yesterday afternoon. After transhipping eleven bales wool to the ship Nelson she hauled alongside the s.s. Alhambra to discharge 100 bags of oatmeal.

The cutter Jane, with cargo from Shag Point, arrived yesterday afternoon. The Albion Company’s s.s. Taiaroa came down from Dnne lin yesterday afternoon, and steamed alongside the barque Theseus for transhipments, and took her departure Inst night for Timavu. The Union Company’s s.s. Wanganui, after taking on board transhipments from the Corona, sailed last evening for Tlmaru. The barque Frederick Basaell was token into Murray’s floating dock at high water yesterday for overhaul and repairs. Messrs M'Meckan Blackwood’s s.s. Alhambra took her departure this afternoon for Melbourne via thq Bluff. ’

The Australian Pacific mail steamer Granada with the outward malls, via San Francisco, took her departure this afternoon.
