The Congregational soiree of Poitobello road Church wa» held last night, Rev. A. Greig in iha chair. The evening was fine and there was a large gathering, the chuich being quite crowded. The financial statement, read by. tho treasurer (Mr Stuart) showed an irapiovement year by year. The speakers were the Hev. A. Blake, Kaikorai; Rev. J. Paterson, Waiho’a; and Mr Bel’, of N. B. Harbor. The addresses were ins true live, as well as entertaining, and the enjoyment of the evening was added to by the choir singing some favorite hymns, Mr Huie leading.
