In the House of Commons, after two days’ debate, a motion by Mr Whitbread censuring the Admiralty’s slave circular was negatived by 293 to 248. An amendment by Mr Fawcett, to suspend the second reading of the Bill to make the circular law, was also negatived by 290 to 240.
M. Dufaure succeeds, M. Buffet as President of the National Assembly of France.
•The wool market is unchanged. Wheat is depressed; New Zealand, 50s to 51s. .

The Tuscarora goes into dock here. Laying the. New Zealand cable obviates the necessity of taking the route as originally intended; but she proceeds to New Zealand, and thence round to Kji :
