FATAL ACCIDENT.
A melancholy accident occurred shortly after ten o'clockthis m rning, whereby an expressdriver, named William Wiße, lost his life. It ippears he was driving up the ** steep " in Canhnngate street, near the junction of street and when in tbe act of turning his v ehicle, the whtels got lock ed, and in endeavoring to p«-t it round the horae backed idightlyv, The hill being very Bteep at that particular spot, the vehicle quickly slipped down 1 and tfas precipitated the bmk into Rattray l&«t below. The exprets was compete y overturned, and the driver, being underneath, was crashed about the heat *nd body. Apparently death was instantaneous as Wise .waa never teen to move afterwards. The owner, of the express, W lliam Insler, Wai "mlßefraJS^ going in quest of a load, but he escaped > y jumping out the moment the vehicle com* menced backing. The deceased 1b a manied niani ajEamiTrof resides at (Javerßham. He haan) r City for some years, and waaj?cli accustomed to the work.
