The fortnightly meeting of the City Council was. held .today; present* the Mayor (in the chafr, CrS. Gibson, Grant, Reeves, Woodland, 1 Campbell. Mollison, Isaacs, Brown, Quick; Leary, Robprtvand Chapman. j 'correspqa ence was reid. The Town Clerk (Mr Etonian) wrote on behalf of the South Dunedm Town Council complaining of the .tardiness or. apparent neglect the. Corpo-r -ration ■ had: manifested 'in ‘ not, having taken ‘‘StepsKtb remove the nuisance of the rpahme dep6t before now, and ’ again to .‘ urge upon.:; them the ; necessity of ’ doing sej r withOat delay ; also, for making pi*o i ; for the disinfection of the same. He was authorised to state , that the local dical officer of; heath had said that in all probability the-- two cases of sckrlet fever now in their midst must have arisen or been co_mmm.irated.by this.intolerable nuisance,! the residence.'of ..the patients being in the immediate neighborhood of-the depdt.
