FATAL ACCIDENT AT PURUKANUI.
... A fatal accident occurred yesterday after-' noon to a workman, named Henry diari, who worked on "the Purukanui section v of the Dunedih and' Moeraki railway. It appears that the deceased was engaged in cutting a chamber, when the earth gave way in front of the fall and knocked him down pn a stone, which struck him at the back of the ear, killing him instantaneously. He wasi'a married man, with one child, and this-was his first work on the line. The body was'brought into Port thij afternoon, and an inquest will be held before Dr O'Donoghue.
