To the Editor.
> I see that certain individuals styling themselves the citizens of Dunedin, a'e busy endeavoring to get qpa cry against the Corporation for erectin'- the Fever Hospital on a portion of the Town Belt. The mass ty for the erection of such a building isadmitted by alljahd I think the site mi at Buit_ble v / With, a view of testing the feeling* of the dtizens who dwell on the flats and more particularly m the immediate nei hbourhood of the Dunedin Hoapitd Reserve, to which it is proposed to remove the Fever /Hospilal by tiie philanthropic, persons who are at the bottom of the prevent movement, I word l suggest that a requisition be got up to the Mayor to call a public meeting, say in the Oddfellows’ H ill, of those who: are opposed to the removal, and I venture to say that the result of that meeting would materially s-trentheibthe hand* of the Corporation in their £ election of the present site in prefe ence to that proposed on the unoccup.ed portion of the Hospital grounds on the flat, in the centre of a dense population.—l am, &c , ’ ' , Flat Man.
