I am sorry to announce the death.of Mr J. “W. Robertson, of. Queenstown. . He was one of the most valued and influential of our residents, and has done immense good, his' liberality and enterprise having- been such as to entitle him to our highest esteem. He was M.P.C. for the district sometime hack, and has been more than once Mayor of Queenstown. His illness was not very long, and only a short, time back he seemed in a fairway of however, he died on Sunday .evening, and it can ’ be safely said that no one hap ever been more regretted than he .is by all who knew him Or had ahy transactions with him. , A child four years of age belonging to Mr •Tohii Jenkins of • Franttowh, died yesterday of brain fever, after a short illness. The annual examination of the Sabbath School, Arrow; was held yesterday, t number of parents and friends being present. M r a u t Mrs War en Stratford conduct this school, and are aided by six other teachers. The attendance averages sixty 'scholars—a great increase ' over last year’s. The children acquitted themselves' well in the Various exercises, sihging, &c., M and'thbir appearancefor rosy, blbbming cheeks ■and clean, tasteful clothing, was equalto Anything of the Mpd I have ever,seen, j Thesghool will close for the winter season in May next. The Rev. ’Bishop'Neville preached last evfehing in the Church . of England, when he took, for liis text the wise and foolish virgins, and gave a! very lucid and feeling discourse.
