SOUTH DUNEDIN MUNICIPALITY.
The Council held their fourth meeting in the Forbury school last evening, when the Mayor (in the chair) and all the Councillors we> e p esent. Correspondence was received from the Central Board of Health and the Police Department on the subject of sanitary measures to be taken. Motions to the following effect were carried:—(l) That a Sanitary Committee, consisting of the Mayor, Councillors Hardy, Nauman, and Barrowman.be appointed. (2) That Messrs Seivewright and Stout be written to under seal of the Corporation intimating their appointment as solicitors for t e Municipality. (3) That the seal be alo affxed to the appointment of Town Clerk. (4) That the appointment of Consulting Engineer be deferred to next meeting and again advertised. Applications for the office of Working Inspector were then opened and read, after which a ballot was taken, resulting in the election of Mr John Melliean, at his offer of L2 14s per week. It was also re olved to call for tenders for cleaning ditch e*. The Council then adjourned to Monday, at 7.30. p.m.
