Wednesday, January 19. (Before Mr Justice Williams and a Special Jury),

Alexander Webb v. The National Bank op New Zealand —Claim L 7.000, damages incurred through defendants foicibly entering plaintiff’s premises and breaking plaintiff s property. Missrs Gr. E. Barton, Stout, and Mowatt appeared for plaintiff; Messrs Smith, Taylor, and Sinclair for defendants. This case was continued to-day. The following witnesses were examined for the defence: —Alexander Bartleman, manager of the Dunedin branch of the Bank of New Zealand; George Ca;stick, of IVkomaitio; R. W. Capstick, auctioneer; John Butler, carpenter ; and James Daniels, carrier. Mr Smith then addressed the jury at some length for the defence. Mr Stout replied, after which His Honor summed up, and was so engaged when we went to press.
