In reference to an article that appeared in this journal referring to runs A 12 and B 12, in which, on the report of proceedings of the Waste Land Board, it was concluded the Waste Lands Act had not been complied with, w eare requested to publish the following explanation : —The reporters of the three Dunedin journals were led into mistake through a clerical error in the minutes of the Board’s proceedings. The leases of none of the runs fall in earlier than eighteen months hence, and this gives full six months for the Government and the Waste Land Board to determine what is to be done with them before the notice required by statute need be given to the runholders. In the case of the two runs, A 76 and B 76, which were said to fall in this year, the regular notice had been given, and special arrangements concerning them have been entered into by the Government.
