HARBOR BOARD.

A regular meeting of the Board was held this afternoon, his Honor the Superintendent presiding, Messrs M'JSeil, Tewsley, Beeves Davie, Turnbull. Capt. M'Kinnon, and J. L. Gillies (secretary) being present. A letter was read from Mr Chalker, and also from one of bis sureties, relative to the Board’s regarding the damage which the crane hsd >?oeutly received, Mr B«PV asked the Board to consider their resolution regarding piofessional charges for d-signs for ha'll of dredge. The former decision was adhere*.' to. Captain Thomson sent a “ Notice to Mariners,” which he de«h.'®d to be advertised. Tfao Secretary salj there ware so many daily papers that he diu not know which to put it into. He might state that for a time he had been giving them to the two morning papers. M r M*Neil suggested that it should be given to the Typographical Association’s journal Mr Tewsley moved that it be put in all three papers. A Member ; Four. Another Member : Five. The ‘News.’ Mr Tewsley said he did not mean thee weekly papeis. As for the ‘News’ he had never heard of it before. It was ultimately agreed to give each of the papers a turn. The Town Clerk wrote complaining that bathers at Pelicbet Bay experienced great discomfort on account of the dredge emptying its contents close to the baths. The Board promised to avoid the pollution as much as possibo The Secretary of Customs forwarded a letter enclosing an Order in ouneil delegating the Governor's powers to the Board. Some minor matters concluded the business.
