WASTE LAND BOARD.
The weekly meeting of the Board was held this morning ; present—The ( hief Commissioner, Messrs Butter worth, Clark, Reid, and Strode. •nr J. Paul asked to withdraw his application for section 7, block 15, Wapahee, and obtai a refund of deposit money. No power Banger Hughan reported on Mr G. Graham’s application to purchase the small islands iu Waipori Lake opposite his property, sections 2 and 3, block 6, Maungatua. Survey to be submitted, and then to be sold at 40s per acre. Aft Donald M'lntyre surrendered his right of occupancy and purchase of section 14 bl ck 8, Waikaka, under de'erred payments. Accepted! and to be re-advertised.
Ranger -ughan reported on Mr D. Campbell s application to purchase three acres of section 50, block 2, Maimgatua. Refused. Runger Boulton wrote referring to reporting on lands taken under the deferred payment system and Goldfields Ac. The statements were considered too general; the ranger to give particulars and names of defaulters only.
Mr James Reid applied to purchase under agricultural lease sections 30, 31, and 32, Shotover. Approved.
Mr 0. Colclough applied ti conduct auction sales in the Clyde district at the rates previously allowed. No change is at present content r lafed.
Mr J. Tannabill applied to purchase fifty acres at Upper Taieri, on which his building is erected, having obtained runholdeis consent. He a ! so applied for 200 acres adjoining his homestead on Messrs, Greig, and Turnbull s run, with then consent Survey to be submitted in both instances.
Mr P. Lees applied for a water-race license, block 1, Tiger Hill. The Chief Surveyor wrot-i on the application, which was granted. The p an of L’otara Island, block 5, Hillend, was approved. The Government sanctioned the sale as land of special value, at L 5 per acre, and fixing the date of sale. The Lawrence Distact Land Officer reported on Mrs Margaret Genevan's application for a refund of survey fees and deposit paid on her application Ur sections 54 and 69, block 3, luapeka West Under the circumstances no objection to the refund being made. The Chief Commissioner asked the Board to consider what action he taken under clause 140 of the A.ct of 1872 with reference to re-leasing the following, runs, which expire in the years 1876 and 1878 Nos. 12a, 12b, 17, 20, 28, 39, 48, 61, 52b, f 2c, 72, 73. 76, 77, 80,109, 92, 417, 420, 61, 62, 74, 82, 414 a, 414b, and 415. deferred to the Government.
Mr James Mackerras, for Mr R. Short, applied for extension of his slate quarry area under the 86th clause of the Act for seven acres of land situated between the slate area and the Kauroo river on the same terms and conditions as the lease granted him. Granted, cubject to survey.
