Wanganui returned from her usual trip to Lvttelton via intermediate ports at 6.30 a.m. yesterday. She left Lyttelton at 2 p.m, on the 6ih. The N.Z.S.S. Company’s s.s. Wellington, with tnirty-iour passengeis and ninety tons of cargo, took tier departure yesterday forenoon for the Northern ports. The brig Thomas end Henry, with a full cargo of t .mem fiom Ivaipara, sailed u;i last evening with a tine N.l-.. w-.ud. She left Kaipara on the 25th nit. The ship Celestial Queen will sail with part of original cargo for Nelson, about Wednesday. The barque Scbiol,allion, having discharged her Dunedin portion of cargo, will sail with 'the remainder about Wednesday, for Wellington. ThoN.Z.S. Company's ship Malanra, has now on board 1,08') bags of grain and about 800 bales of wool, and will sail for Loudon on the 29th iust. The s.s. Maori arrived at Hokitika early yesterday. bhe left again this morning at nine o’clock, and arrived alongside Gioymouth Wharf at II a.m. The Union Company’s p.s. Samson, with thirtynine passengers, 216 bales of wool, and other cargo, arx-ived on Saturday evening from Oamaru. The barque Nardoo, from Foo-chow, finished discharging her cargo of tea on Saturday. The ship Waimata, having finished discharging her cargo, will shortly commence to load for Loudon.
The s.s. Easily sailed for Sydney, via Northern ports, yesterday morning. The Union Company’s line s.s. Hawca, with sixty-sis passengers and the Otago portion of the San iTaucisco mails, arrived alongside the railway pier at 8 a.m. yesterday. She left Onehuuga at 2 p.m. on the 3rd inst., arriving at Wellington at 5 a.m. on the Cth, having experienced S.E. winds from Manalcau which increased to a "heavy gale across the Straits attended by high sea; was detained at Wellington until noon on the 7th, and arrived at Lyttelton at 7 a.m. on the Bth, leaving there at 1 p.m. We thank MrPousonby (thepurser) for report and exchanges.
