RAIN, OR NO RAIN.
To the Editor. Sir,—That is the question, and the answer is given in the pluvial return annexed. The past year, with its many tears, is no more, and should be chronicled amongst the many blessings showered upon us as the Dunedin water-line-year. The number of weeping days may appear dc imp, but can be with confidence accepted as truthful, their frequent occurence having been carefully noted by a veteran, whose hobby has been a reigning one, studying the ph ses of the moon and the airy shifts —not forgetting your ‘ Venus” —for years past. To account for Dunedin being so very aqueous, is far beyon 1 my gu-ige : I fancy she has got mixed up with the Zodiac, and tha' the twelfth sign is running her out.—l am. &c . O.D.Y.
