CRICKET.
A match was played on the Southern Oval this afternoon between sides chosen by Messrs Collinson and H. Godbey, members oflj the committee chosen to select players in the Interprovincial Match with Canterbury. Play was to have commenced at two o’clock, but owing to the want of punctuality displayed by certain member it was an hour later before the first ball was delivered. -• Considerable interest was centred in the game, as it was understood that to-day’s play would influence the committee in their selection of representatives. The ground was rather dead, Heuclley having been unable to get it in proper order owing to the weather lately. The position of the game at four o’clock was : COLLINSON’S SIDE. M.
