The fore-and-aft schooner Kate Maegregor, from Auckland, arrived on Sunday evening, and continued her course to Dunedin. The barque Gift, for Point do Galle, and the centre-board barque Waratah, for Hobart Town, were towed to sea yesterday. Messrs Patrick Henderson’s fine ship Otago took her departure yesterday for Adelaide, at which port she will load for London. The * Bruce Herald ’ states that last week Mr G. F, Reid offered L 1,500 to Mr Abbot for his half share (which was uninsured) in the Lady of the Lake. It is hoped that it will be possible to save the engines and port of the cargo. Some capital runs were made by the Waitava, which arrived at the Bluff last week. On October 31st, 241 miles were logged for the day; on . the Ist November, 256 miles, a»d 222 on the next «lay, or 1,345 miles in all was the distance run from tlio Slat October to the sth November. During the hollowing week, another excellent run was made of J.,552 miles, 1,792 the following week, and 1,768 the .next week. The best day’s work was 301 miles. The barque Skerryvore, which put into Lyttelton on Wednesday for water, &c., has on board the .exhibits from Melbourne for the Philadelphia Centen - nial Exhibition. THREE DUNEDIN VESSELS ASHORE, The brigantine Kate Monaghan, the ketch Lilly Hawkins, and the cutter Nautilus are ashore on the North Spit of the Manawatu River. All are loaded with iron from Duuediu.
