ELECTORAL NOTES.
At the Wakatip nomination to-day Messrs Manders, Cope, and Bradshaw were nominated. Toe snow of hands was greatly in favor of Mr Manders, who made a strong Separationist’s speech. Mr Cope’s was arepetion of his previous address. Re is an Abolitionist. Mr Bradshaw turned Separationist. Mr Cope favors denominational, the others secular education. NELSON SUBUED3 ELECTION. The following was the result of the polling yesterday A. J. Richmond 125 W. Rout 93 AUCKLAND EAST ELECTION. The polling yesterday for City East resulted In the return'of Mr W. L Rees by a majority of 34, the numbers bt ing Rees 300 Clark 2(36 NAPIER ELECTION. This election earned more excitement than any previous contest. The result of the poll at Napier gave M'Lean 213 ; Russel], 147 ; Colenso, S3; A. P. Stuart. 151; and Ferrard, 13. The totals, with town and country, give : M'Lean 300 Russell 269 Stuart 173 Colenso 38 Reran! 13 At the Eden nomination the show of hands was Carlton, 3; A. K. Taylor, 6. The poll takes place to-day. WALLACE EELCTION. The returns already to hand give Mr Basstian sixty-two and Mr Joyce (Provincialist) fifty. The Orepuki returns are not yet in, but it is expected they will result in a majority for Mr Joyce. All the returns are not yet In. At present Mr Joyce has a majority of nine. The probability is that he will he elc ted. SELWTN ELECTION, The following was the result of the poll yesterday : - Fitzroy (Abolitionist) 214 W. Reeves (the old member) 2'.’o This caused great astonishment in Christchurch, where Mr Reeves was backel at long odds. Mr i itzroy is a young and untried man.
