THE HUTT AFFRAY.
(From our own Correspondent, ) t The principal topic of conversation in Wellington yesterday was the attempted murder case at the Hutt, The piisoner, who is a native of Switzerland, is of most repulsive appearance, and seems quite cowed, and appears to know that he is almost certain to be executed, even if his victims live. He is above the middle siz a , and apparently about forty years old. There does not appear to have been a motive for the crime. The wounded men, as they lie in the hospital, present a dis trussing appearance. They are both unmarried. The prisoner was taken to the Hospital yester day and identified. On leaving the L’ourt and the Hospital he was greeted with howls by the crowd, and would probibly have suffered illtreatment at their hands if he had not been protected by the police. He has been remandetl till Monday.
