Wellington, December 11. A change is made in the competition for choice of representatives at the Colonial prize firing. Instead of companies having to fire for first choice by December 11, and a second firing for men to go to Wanganui by January 20, there will be no fixed date for first firing. ___ Invercargill, December 13. Tho Supreme Court was opened to-day by Judge Williams, Tho grand jury found true fail's in the larceny cases of Regina v. Connor, Casey, and Campbell. The two first pleaded guilty, Connor (a woman) was sentenced to four month’s hard labor, and Casey six months’. Campbell pleaded not guilty, and was acquitted by the. Petty' Jury. The Grand Jury threw out the Bill against M'Glasban for arson. The Judge, in reply to a congratulatory pre’sentment, said he was struck with the appearance of universal prosperity in Invercargill since his last visit to the place some two or three years ago.
