WATER COLOR SOCIETY.
To the Editor, Sir,—lt is ■with feelings of pleasure I noticed a letter in the * Daily Times ’ of the 9th inat. in reference to the formation of a Water Color Society in Dunedin. It has been a matter of surprise to me that such a movement has not been made long since, for I am certain that we have in our midst many amateur artists above mediocrity, and also many others not artistically inclined who would gladly give their hearty co-opernticn and support. The ladies, too, would be sure to take an interest in the affair, and be a valuable acquisition to such a society. It now only remains for some of our leading amateurs to evil a meeting, when I hope there will be a goodly attendance, and that in a very short time we may have the pleasure of hearing that the Water Color Society has been fairly launched. -1 am, &c., Intending Member. Dunedin, December 11.
