SCARLET FEVER.
To the Editor. Sir,—Canyon inform me, through the medium of your columns, whether it is a fact that _ scarlet fever exists in a house in close proximity to the Albany street Post-office ? If so, I think too much publicity cannot be givsn to the fact, so that parents may prevent as much as possible tho intercourse between the children, with which that neighborhood literally swarms, and amongst whom I fear this scourge will make great havoc, if it has arrived in the locality. I think a better stand for any fever to occupy, could not well be procured, and I have little doubt it will do an excellent business, in cinjunction with that admirable auxiliaiy—the stagnate pool of putrid water—which the City Council or Health Board have allowed to pollute the air of the neighborhood for the past twelve months. I trust these august bodies will not suffer any inconvenience to their night’s rest, if serious consequences arise from their delay and neglect in respect to this cesspool.—l am. *O., . „ A Resident. Albany street, December 8.
