The Evening Star SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4, 1875.

The disposal of one charge of drunkenness, in which the offender was mulcted in the usual nominal penaty, constituted the police business at the City Police Court to-day. The Invercargill 'Municipal Council has resolved to give to the newly-arrived immigrants, who cannot lind ready employment, temporary work on town works at the rate of five shillings per day. The Lynch family of bellringers, assisted by Mr Keeley, comiquo, will make their final appearance in Dunedin to-night, when a most attractive programme will be presented. An afternoon performance was given to-day, Waipori blasts of a Chinaman who bears a strong resemblance to Arthur Orton, the Tichborne claimant, in point of size.
