The amount of revenue teoeived at the Customhouse on goods cleared for consumption this day n-as 1.1,278 43. Business during the week has not been marked by much activity, orders from the country during the latter half of the week having been rather light, j Hennessy’s case brandy : in this article there have only bee small transactions; the price, however, continues at last quotations—32s; bulk, Ss 9d. There has been a fair inquiry for good whiskeys, which are in short supply. denary and Lome whiskeys are in command at 6s to 6s 3d; a parcel of Thorn and Cameron’s whisky has been placed at 4 s Gd for quarters and 4s 7sd for octaves. Candles are still well held at 10Jd to and stock light. Devoe’s kerosene is quoted at Is 6d : J. B. diamond, Is 4sd. carb. soda, 225; starch, 425; Keffor’s marmalade, Ssfid; Morton’s pickles, 9s 6d. A large parcel of oats has been placed at 2s, for shipment. Flour continues low, 1.10 aud LlO 10s Cheese is almost out of the market, and arrivals of new cheese are anxiously looked for. This article is likely to be in short supply, farmers having replaced their dairy cattle with sheep. Butter we quote at Is, and coming in very freely. Currants have been sold to niTive at 4id for casks and4|dfor cases; Eleme raisins, 6id; sultanas continue scarce and command 9d to 9id. There have been two arrivals during the week, viz., the Mataura and Canterbury from I.ondon, the latter with a large and well assorted cargo. Mr J. Milner sold the privileges at the ensuing Spring race meeting at the Provincial Sale Yards this morning. The attendance of the public was i large and the bidding spirited. The following were the prices realised Gates, £205 (HaroD); grand stand, £7l (W. E. Coupons): saddling paddock, £44 (W. E. Couzeus); stabling, £1 10s (H. Parsons); cards, £23 (R. Langley) ; stewards’ booth, £4B 1 (Dunning); booths No. 1 and No. 2, £BB (Fagan); site ■ for booth, 30ft frontage, £l4 (Armstrong) ; sole right of selling fruit, £lO (Elliott). The total : amounted to £504105, against £286 last yecr. THE SHARE MARKET.
