Monday, November 8. (Before J. Bathgate, Esq., R.M.) S. Doodeward v. Curtis.—Claim LI, for boot s ! supplied. Defendant produced a receipt for the amount signed by A. Doodeward, plaintiff’s brother.—Plaintiff put in a newspaper containing an advertisement to the effect that he and his brother, who used to bo in business together, had dissolved partnership before these goods wjere purchased by defendant. Defendant bdnght them at witness’s shop in George street, bu* paid his brother at the Stafford street shop.—His Worship said defendant had no business to pay A. Doodeward the amount after the dissolution had been announced. ludgment was given for plaintiff for iho amount claimed, with costs. Hall and others' v. Thomas Lockie, -Ciaim LI I B*. amount due on a contract for grubbing aud clearing ground. Mr Denniston apoeared for defendant. Plaintiffs were nonsuited. Judgment was given for plaintiffs by default in trie following casesKinc,id. M'Queen, and Co. v. W. IT. White, claim L 57, amount due on b 11 of exchange and for goods supplied; Alex.
