London, October 19. The British Arctic expedition arrived at Carey’s Is ancls on the 27th July, and left immediately for -mith Sound. The season is described as very open, and there is every prospect of high latitudes being reached. The expedition is stated to be all well. A French note has been sent to Turkey to protest against the bitter’s default in payment of coupons. A cablegram from Sir Daniel Cooper announces the death of Sir Charles Cowper, Agent-General for New South Wales.
